Word definitions:
Crepuscular – an animal who is active at night, and sleeps through the day. Endangered – a species that has the status of near extinction. Gestation – the period of when a baby is developing inside the womb. Herbivores – an animal that doesn’t eat meat, and only eats plants. Loph – lophs are the tapir’s shearing blades on their teeth. Mammals – a warm-blooded vertebrate who has live young, and bares milk. |

the day (synonym of crepuscular). Organism - an individual or specific animal, plant, fungi, or uni-cellular life. Perissodactyls – relative of odd-toed ungulates, rhinoceroses and horses. Phylum - an animal with a spinal cord (vertebrate). Primitive – an ancient or prehistoric animal. Proboscis – the long and mobile nose of a tapir. |
